Join us for a 2-hour group lesson to discover the thrills of downhill mountain biking at the Women's Downhill Festival at Horseshoe Bike Park!

Date: August 9
Time: 10:00AM-12:00PM
Location: Horseshoe Bike Park
Meet-up: Meet at the StokedMTB tent at 9:45 sharp, ready to roll with your bike, full face-face helmet and lift pass.

Perfect for new and nervous riders, this session is designed to introduce you to the joys of gravity-fed riding in a supportive and fun environment.

What to Expect:

  • Lift Loading: Learn how to safely load and unload your bike (and yourself!) on the lift.

  • Foundational Skills: Master the basics needed to confidently ride downhill, including the fundamentals of body position, brake control and trail scanning.

  • Trail Navigation: Get familiar with the most appropriate trails and the best lines to take.

  • Trail Etiquette: Learn safety best practices for riding in a bike park.

  • Small group size for optimal learning and feedback opportunities

What You Need:

  • A mountain bike suitable for downhill riding, in good working order (disc brakes, knobby tires wider than 2”, and either full suspension or hardtail with suspension fork)

  • A lift pass for Horseshoe Bike Park (not included)

  • A full-face helmet (very strongly recommended)

  • Mountain biking shoes and pedals (flats recommended, clipless if it’s your preference)

  • Knee and elbow pads (demo gear available on a first-come-first-served basis)

This women’s group lesson is a welcoming space to build your skills and confidence so you can enjoy the Women’s DH Festival to the fullest. A full-face helmet is very strongly recommended for your safety, rentals are available at the resort.
